I've been fortunate in my life to be involved with an NGO that does ophthalmic procedures in disadvantaged countries. Many of these images are from children who have a very difficult life. If you want to learn more visit SEE International.

At hospitals in Africa there are no food services. Members of the family will bring live animals to the back of the hospital and prepare them for dinner.

All through the Himalayas children are involved in heavy lifting. In their villages they routinely carry water from hand pumps in the center of their villages.

 This area has extreme poverty.
